Dhulm:Years of Torment is a movie about Italian colonialism in Lybia between 1911 and 1943. Under the Italian occupation the country witnessed unprecedented oppression of civilians both in magnitude of cruelty and scale of suffering. Hundred of thousands of Libyans – Muslims, Christians and Jews- were subjected to systematic cruelty, deportation and starvation.

Dhulm:Years of Torment brings to life some of the intimate stories of Libyan individuals who experienced torture, imprisonment and exile. The film also portrays Europeans who were caught up in the Libyan tragedy, based on real life testimonies. Filming in Libya is planned to start early 2008 and will be executed by an international production team from Europe, the Middle East and Libya. Hundreds of actors from Libya will take part in addition to a support cast from Italy, Britain, France, Germany and Turkey.
