The 33rd Cinemed Mediterranean Film Festival of Montpellier, France will be held between the 21st and the 29th of October 2011.

The Festival will open on Friday the 21st October at 8.30 pm at Le Corum with the projection of L’Art d’aimer , a comedy by Emmanuel Mouret, featuring Judith Godrèche, Ariane Ascaride, Frédérique Bel, Julie Depardieu, François Cluzet, Gaspard Ulliel, Laurent Stocker and others.

Stafania Sandrelli


Italian actress Stefania Sandrelli will be at the Cinemed Festival for the Pietro Germi retrospective
A major figure of Italian cinema, Stefania Sandrelli became famous in 1962 when she was directed by Pietro Germi in Divorce, Italian style. She worked with Germi again in Seduced and Abandoned (1964) and Alfredo, Alfredo (1972). She then had a considerable career with great directors such as Ettore Scola (We all Loved Each Other So Much, 1974, La Terrazza, 1979), Bernardo Bertolucci (The Conformist, 1969), Luigi Comencini (Somewhere Beyond Love, 1973, Traffic Jam, 1979), Mario Monicelli etc. After more than 120 films, she recently moved behind the camera to make Christine, Cristina (2009), a historical film that she will show when she comes to the Cinemed.

This edition will launch the first Cinema and Audiovisual Trades Day (1re Journée des métiers du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel) on Friday 21 October 2011 - Le Corum - Palais des congrès, Montpellier

The event is organised for lycée pupils in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence-Côte d'Azur regions, cinema students and for the 500 lycée cinema and audiovisual pupils from 21 lycées all over France who will participate to the Cinemed Montpellier from 21 to 23 October for training.
The aim is to introduce career in the filmmaking industry to young people.
