A dialogue of Poetry and Painting: Adonis & Haider
On exhibit for the first time at Darat al Funun and to tour the Arab World and Europe are new works rich with aesthetic experimentation and romantic sensibility. While Adonis's collages weave handwritten poetry inspired by classical Arabic literature with a mélange of textured materials like cloth, fiber, and paper scraps, Haider's mixed media paintings involve vigorous expanses of radiant colors and highly worked surfaces. This debut showing was organized in cooperation with the French Cultural Centre in Amman.
