The First Arab Training of Trainers Program in Cultural Management

  The First Arab Training of Trainers Program in Cultural Management The program’s objective is to create capacity within the region for training professionals working in the various fields of cultural management, such as management of theatres, galleries and other venues, management of artistic groups, festival management and production management. The ultimate goal of the program is to support the administrative and economic infrastructure of Arab cultural organizations.

The Training course consists of three progressive workshops, conducted in English with the possibility of translation to and from Arabic. The course will be given by professional European trainers in the field of Cultural Management aided by experts from the Arab region. The workshops will include topics such as cultural policies, cultural infrastructure, management of cultural organizations and groups and production management. Participants will also receive training in teaching and communication with students. Participants will be expected to engage effectively with and attend all parts of the program and to be willing and ready to train others after receiving the course. Those who complete the course will receive a course completion certificate accredited by The European Cultural Foundation and Al Mawred Al Thaqafy (Culture Resource).In addition to that, those applicants will assist in the development of a training package for beginners in Arabic, to be published in 2006.
Accepted applicants should attend all of the three workshops on the following dates:

- 3 to 8 May 2005
- 13 to 18 June 2005
- 6 to 10 September 2005

Al Mawred Al Thaqafy (Culture Resource) will cover all travel, accommodation and tuition expenses for accepted applicants.

Requirements:
Applicant has to be an Arab
Applicant should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leading position in a cultural organization
The application must include the applicant’s name, postal address, email address, phone number, nationality and a copy of ID or passport
The application must include a motivation letter
Application should include a resume indicating professional experience, especially in the cultural management field
Applicant should be ready and willing to pass on experience to less experienced people working in the arts management filed
The application must include a signed statement undertaking to attend all three workshops at the above dates and confirming willingness to participate in the development of the Arabic cultural management training
