Cyprus: 'Living Together'The photography and film exhibition features eight artists from across South East Europe and the UK: George Georgiou (Cyprus), Gulsun Karamustafa (Turkey), David Creedon (Ireland), Yuval Yairi (Israel), Dana Popa (Moldova), Ivor Prickett (Wales), Piruza Khalapyan (Armenia), Sejla Kameric (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
George Georgiou will attend the launch on 10 September to present his extended work from Cyprus, Serbia and Turkey that focuses on people caught between communities, cultures and ideologies.
Migration and displacement are central themes of this exhibition which is part of the wider agenda being addressed by the British Council project Living Together . One of the underlying aims of the exhibition is to explore the impact of certain migrant communities on a contemporary society that remains largely unaware of their existence and how these communities adapt to new landscapes and evolve within new social structures.
