“Les Nuits de la Saoura”

The Festival “Les Nuits de la Saoura” in Beni Abbés is the results from years of collaboration between the Algerian Association Hillal La Saoura and the French Association Nuits Métis whose headquarters are in Marseilles. The 1st Edition that took place in December 2003 was such a success that it encouraged the people of both associations to make this event durable. The aims of this partnership are cultural exchange, mutual respect, cultural, artistic and economic growth, and local development.
Among the activities:
-Residencies and artistic exchanges;
-Performances open to the public;
-The renovation of a traditional house: “The Hadj Benrahou artists’ residence”.
