The 5th Edition of the Spring Festival organised by Culture Resource in cooperation with Shams Association will be held in Cairo, Alexandria, Minya, Assiut, Beirut and Tripoli simultaneously from the 20th April to the 16th of May 2012 . The Festival will bring together a wide range of the most prominent contemporary artists from Europe, Central Asia, the Arab Region and the US.
The opening concert of the festival taking place on Friday, 20th April at Prince Taz Palace, Cairo at 8.00PM will feature two distinguished Turkish musicians from Nedim Nalbantoglu, Nuri Karadermilli, Babaros Erkose and others.
The festival's program also features two contemporary dance performances, a puppet show, a series of storytelling evenings and a panel discussion where cultural and political activists from Bahrain, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen are invited to discuss the Revolutions.
The festival events will take place at several venues around Cairo including El Genaina Theatre, Amir Taz Palace, Beit El Seheimy, Falaki Theater, Ewart Hall – AUC. In Alexandria, the festival events will take place at Jesuits Cultural Center (JCC), Alexandria Center of Arts, and Cinema Rio Rooftop. This year, and for the first time, the festival will be held in Minya, Jesuits Cultural Center, and in Assiut, the University of Assiut, at El Nile Hall.
